About the Event
In preparation for this workshop, you’ll email a sample of your work in advance to the facilitator, Carol Hoggart. She’ll then circulate copies to all participants to read and think about before the workshop. When we meet on the 17th and 18th, we’ll consider each piece in turn in a discussion led by Carol. The workshop focuses upon providing constructive and respectful feedback – including highlighting what’s working well in each piece. Carol will also offer background material and advice based on any needs or themes arising from the writing submitted.
Participants are asked to send their fiction (no more than 8000 words in length, please!) to carolhoggart@yahoo.com.au by 1/4/21. The fiction may be a short story or the opening section of a novel/novella. All fiction genres are welcome (although if you think any content might offend, do let us know).
Note: a limit of 10 participants applies and registrations close on 1st April so be sure to secure your ticket soon!
About the Facilitator
Carol Hoggart has a PhD in Creative Writing, has taught writing at Curtin University, and has written and published historical fiction and academic articles. More importantly, she has participated in fiction-critiquing groups for many years and finds them enormously useful and enjoyable.
